I teared up when she talked about her mother not being able to afford going to the movies in the 70s and now, at the age of 89, catching up on her daughter’s films. Also, this, how she countered being asked if she became gay from starring in The L Word and being around gay women: “Did you become white when you were…
A fucking legend!
I have been following Kadir Nelson for years. I have a signed glicee of his High Noon. I love it. I saved for months and traveled 68 miles to get it.
Yup, it was ‘Driving Miss Daisy 2.0'.
Mr. Nelson was at the Wilmington Public Library in Delaware on Feb. 7 and I missed him. My heart will hurt for a very long time, sigh.
Yeah, I enjoyed the show too. It’s a short watch as well. I REALLY don’t fuck with a LOT of his views, though.
Thanks for posting this.
Good for her. So sad and scary that she actually attempted cutting off her eyebrows... yikes!
I always wondered why no one ever thought to get to his driver.
Saw this elsewhere. I love this young man’s work. Create a space for him and protect him at all costs.
The original is one of my all-time favorite albums. Still listen to it at least once a month. It’s bullshit on the POTUS part, but I am happy for Alice and horrified at her story! Prison and sentencing reform NOW! Costly, destructive, scary and just…
How Fantastic! Thank you for sharing that. It has brightened my day. Good Vibes!

Last year the Met Museum had an incredible survey of his work and for it Kerry James created a signed limited edition print but they are…
Marshall sold this painting for $25k in 1997. The person who bought it from him just made millions. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-kerry-james-marshall-painting-auction-millions-20180517-story.html
I’m really interested to know if they’re also looking at the brains of the judges and correction officers and other system officials who are responsible for the welfare of these kids, since implicit bias is such a huge driver of disparate punishments in that system and we know implicit bias starts in the neuroscience.
Even him talking outside of his characters in his acting, he makes me shed tears, you are so GREAT!!!!
There are so many people around Baltimore who are so cynical about what she’s doing, but the city is making progress. A little hope never hurt anybody.
