Playing video games isn’t necessary. This is such a weird thing to be upset by.
The only problem here is people getting up in arms about a single kid playing a slightly modified 25-year-old game.
I fail to see the difference. And, to say that this changes the story is absurd. Link being a male isn’t impactful to the story, like, at all. Maybe if this were like Witcher 3 and someone changed Geralt to a female by just changing the pronouns that’d be weirder and harder to explain, but this is about as harmless as…
Well I certainly don’t see those comments. lol
I changed the color of Triss’ hair in Witcher 3 to match what it was in Witcher 2. That make you angry too, fuckwad?
You’re kind of contradicting yourself by using the term “imagine” then saying that the kid should just follow the story without thinking or suggesting any changes.
Name one aspect of the gameplay that becomes different if Link wore pink.
“You’re playing as Link. Link is a male as per the game design.”
And then this creator made it not a boy. See how that works?
The character, per the developers, is an amorphous player avatar that’s supposed to be as bland as possible. It’s the explicitly stated reason for why they won’t make Link talk.
Dad does nice thing for child.
The character is not real. The character can therefore be anything anyone makes them to be.
Name one aspect of the gameplay that becomes different if Link isn’t a boy.
The story isn’t being tailored. Just the pronouns.
I too hate being nice to my children , and would wish upon them nothing but woe.
If you go to all this trouble just to make your kid happy, you deserve that attention.
Well, it has a point to a lot of people that are underrepresented in video games, whether you “see the point” or not, it doesn’t really affect you either way, so why is it that you felt the need to respond negatively to a father trying to give his daughter the same opportunities he had?
To give his daughter a more immersive adventure. Pray that you become half as kind and considerate as a parent.
It just seemed to fit.
