If you recently bought the game then you didn’t have to face the difficulty. They patched it about a month or so after release to reduce the difficulty. With that said, even when it was in it’s vanilla state, I didn’t find the game to be all that difficult.
Bought it on Day 1, played through and beat it within a few days. Loved it. Never understood why people said it was too hard. Then they put out a patch saying they were going to make the game easier. Seems like a waste too me if there is no option to increase the difficulty to the original releases level.
