Seriously though, it seems even more telling that Dunham characterized his lines as a “massive insult of white women” rather than a fairly tame insult towards her character/show (and clueless hipsters like her) specifically.

I’m guessing they felt the word could only be used in the context that the audience feels the character who used it is wrong for saying it. So a white character says it, the show is telling us “he is wrong for using that terrible word,” while a black character says it to a friend, you’re condoning its usage.

Ron Swanson’s stance would be that a man only needs a bow & arrow and only to hunt for his meat. He can defend himself with his bare hands.
