I’m thinking it takes place after BvS. The guy in the beginning is talking about Superman in the past tense, like he isn’t around anymore. That said, I think the Batman scenes are flashbacks since it seems he is only interacting with Harley and Joker.

I don’t think he became Batmanslaughter until after the battle of Metropolis. I believe that was the whole point of the scene where Alfred asks “new rules?” and goes on the speech where the feeling of powerlessness after the battle has turned Batman cruel.

I won’t let these kinds of people ruin what I enjoy. I liked it too. And I went to see it multiple times in theatres. It may be not everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t get why there has to be such hatred of it. It’s like the movie is going through what Superman went through in the movie.
