I have had the Mirena IUD for the last 3 years. I got it for abnormal bleeding/early stage endometrial cancer and I did have some pretty wild mood swings for the first few months but it leveled off very quickly. The worst part by far was having it inserted. The best part is I don’t have my period anymore!!!

It’s not that you’re a horrible person. It’s just hormones. Once you realize that, you don’t feel quite as bad. Hormones man. They’re the worst.

I have skyla and once I got used to the fact that my periods are a little more irregular/past the spotting first few months, everything has been great. It’s still weird to me to not have to worry. I hope you start to feel better soon!
