I’m guessing most of the attendees at Blerdcon have had that experience at other, more mainstream, conventions, so it kinda illustrates the point they’re trying to make.

I don’t know that it’s much different from having an anime con, or a tabletop gaming con. It’s highlighting a certain portion of the nerd community that might otherwise be overshadowed at a more general-topic con like PAX or SDCC.
