I don’t know that it’s much different from having an anime con, or a tabletop gaming con. It’s highlighting a certain portion of the nerd community that might otherwise be overshadowed at a more general-topic con like PAX or SDCC.
From the video, it looked like there were a few white people cosplaying / walking around—I can’t imagine they’re actively keeping people out.

Great points, but #4 is completely off-base. Title IX was never really in play, as it typically applies only to students, faculty, and staff. Courtney Smith doesn’t fall in any of those categories.
