As soon as I read Rebel’s comment my mind went to Just Wright. FANTASTIC film, and as others have said upthread - Queen Latifah’s weight isn’t a focal point.

Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about Queen Latifah in Just Wright with Common?!?! The Last Holiday is a great movie, but Just Wright is one of my favorites!! Queen Latifah has been such a consistently fabulous body positive role model. Rebel Wilson can fuck all the way off with her bullshit. 

Yes! And Queen Latifah’s projects are always like that. I like Monique but her projects were still very “fat girl finds love EVEN THOUGH SHE’S FAT” while Queen Latifah’s, her weight is never brought up, joked about, nothing. She just is the size she is and everything carries on as usual. AKA the way it should be…

That’s actually what I loved about Queen Latifah’s movie. Her character just happened to be plus size because that’s how Queen is but the movie wasn’t making any jokes about it. She was simply beautifully and unapologetically dressed for her body type and the story  moved along. That’s how it should always be.

With Rebel’s comments and Hugh Jackman being such BFF’s with Ivanka that he absolutely had to invite her to his birthday, I’m giving some of these Australian famous peeps some side eye. Something tells me Mel Gibson isn’t the most racist Aussie out in the public eye, he was just the one who got caught on tape.
