Every chance I get.

Because innocent people are never misidentified...

WHO’S ASKING?

Wait... These things let people control their home theater systems and other “smart home” stuff with their phones, yeah? Why the hell are they completely dependent on remote servers at all? Why can’t this be achieved using the owner’s home wifi? That’s ridiculous.

Well that’s one way to guarantee I’ll never buy a Logitech product that is dependent on cloud services.

AWACS on, AWACS off....

I get way too smug when I see drivers weaving in and out of traffic, cutting everyone off, only for me to beat them to the same destination. You’re saving yourself <1 minute tops by driving recklessly in almost every situation. Shit happens, but driving like an ass doesn’t miraculously make you not late when it does.

Only Waze gives close to reasonable estimates, and it basically routes you down irrigation ducts and through people’s back yards.

This.

If you are playing your time so tight that having to slow down from 70 to 60 for a few minutes makes you late, you aren’t actually planning, you’re hoping for the best. And no one should camp in the passing lane. That’s a dick move.

or if your late just drive normal and be late. that’s what i do, I would rather arrive alive than not arrive at all.

Lived in Seattle, made the shitty commute to capitol hill every day. and 99% of the time if I was late it’s because I was really hoping traffic wouldn’t be that bad. The other 1% of the time was earthquakes.

Tell me I’m wrong though :)

We’ve all done it. We’ve all left late, drove stupid and got mad at everyone else for daring to be on the road.Recognizing it’s usually your own damn fault is the first step in correcting the problem.

Here’s a really important one: If you are late, it’s probably your own fault. Don’t take it out on everyone else.

Very rarely are you late because of a cyclist, pedestrian or slow moving traffic. You are late because you waited until the last minute to leave and expected perfect conditions on the road. So now, you are

“We find her comments to be very disappointing and demoralizing to the hundreds of people on our team that have left their homes and families and have come here to help the people of Puerto Rico.”

All I know is, it’s a lot easier to turn a known virus fucking deadly than it is to create gene therapy in the garage.

I was expecting a bottle like this:

One of the things that really leaps out when reading about the typical do it yourself cure like this is the raw naivité. Gene therapy is hard because using genes to cure disease requires all sorts of technology, including a lot we don’t have yet.

Then it needs to be written more directly to reflect that. There are some warnings but this needs a bullshit billboard across the top. This is harmful.

I wish it was that easy. I have to use adeno-associated viral vectors to express (optogenetic) light-gated ion channels in the mice I work with. It’s not easy or cheap. These guys have no idea what they’re doing.
