I, in super beginner HPDEs, was always taught to get braking done in a straight line in order to make sure you get idea and feel of weight transfer down. This included stabbing the brakes to get weight up front even on slower sharper turns. I’ve only done three weekends at a track, but trail braking was not…
It does depend on the car, corner, surface, tires, etc. Sometimes you need to get all your braking done in a straight line before initiating the turn, then use throttle / steering inputs only through apex / exit.

I drove a 2018 911 GTS PDK at the Porsche Driving Experience. What a thrilling car. PDK is incredible on the track. The car is very fast and while on track, I wouldn’t want to bother with another pedal and taking a hand off the steering wheel.
