And the reliability gags start.....

To be fair, the G always had some restrictions but a pretty large profile to start with. It would have taken some pretty stupid decisions to get it wrong. A little larger here, a little wider there and hey presto, more room and a nicer driving experience.

Now, what would be truly disruptive in the industry would be the ability to take Netflix and other streaming services and allow you to watch them anywhere. Maybe put them on a larger screen, allow for a multiple sizes and optimize them for video playback.

Yeah, its an interesting statistic for sure, but its meaningless and meant to baffle rather than clarify things - just take a look at the comments here! Everyone is seeing through this, which is to be expected, but its the financial analysts who must be laughing. Always good to try and reset expectations I know, but

How dangerous are these things? Its only 10MPH or around there, its not that bad. I used to fall of my bicycle as a kid and I turned out ok! I thought that for a while until I started seeing people faceplant. These things hurt!

Yup, agree. But it must be sooo frustrating for the cabin crew though. I wonder how many people on a daily basis that they have to deal with around this? At a guess, its usually 3-4 per Southwest flight I take, and the crew usually do 3 legs in a day.... and they still smile? Better person than me!

A friend sent me a photo of the TSA Pre line at Dulles airport the other week. It was 5 times the length of the normal one! Now there are a few things you can say about that, but the bottom line is that TSA Pre is no longer the exclusive that it once was.

This....

Maybe the accountants are running the business, but given their production numbers, thats probably not a bad thing!

Not sure if anyone has checked YouTube, but there a number of Vloggers who have been testing Autopilot on real roads. Tesla keeps pushing that its perfect / working / self-driving, but what is interesting is to see others using it:

This.

Its expensive and for what it is, overpriced. However, a good clean early model is worth good money in any market and any special edition is worth a touch more (replica or not). People love these old air-heads and its probably good for the price for a good number of years going forward. Shouldnt loose money!

So here are a couple of questions for the car fan viewer. Firstly, since the manufacturer changes by continent, we all know that its probably better for the environment long term to buy one single fuel efficient car and use it for 25 years - would you? I wouldn’t, but thats because I am an insufferable snob and need a

I really like the phrase you used there - ‘potentially shift .... from gas to electric’. That sums it up. All those shorter journeys in and around town where you get the worst MPG, get them on electric! Startup and cold engine emissions are the highest, so lets not have them. And then there is the localized environment

Yeah I do somewhat agree. If you want to get the best out of your car at a track day / race track, doing it in your daily isnt the best option! And if it is important to you, swap the one expensive car for two (or even three) others. You dont have to get a heap for the daily job, but you could downsize to something

So the 500,000 number that Must threw around TWICE is BS after all. Of course, he will caveat it with ‘when the new factory is operational’. But when you are talking investors (institutional and individual) then its hard facts that they need to work with. If we had this type of guidance from companies like GE to Apple

Impressive and having driven some of those roads, it handles them pretty well. However, even though sped up, the autonomous system does take a very cautious approach at some of the more complex situations. Passing a few double parked cars was good, but still not sure it is quite as good as a real person in these

I agree! Combat pilots talk about ‘high load’ situations and its not about G-force! Its when you have lots to think and do that mistakes are made. The same principle can be applied to driving. If the roads have light traffic, no unusual markings / layout and there arent any complex intersections to transition, load is

Maybe I am just being a idiot here, but my view is that you dont discount one or the other. We are heading into new territory here and while there are potentially different ways to solve this issue, casting one or the other aside doesnt help anyone! Since they are in the business of selling cars, surely they should

Totally agree, but I have long said that this isnt an issue with the technology precisely, but how its sold and used. Technology and people can be easily fooled, but when Autopilot (never liked the name / branding there) is positioned in such a way to suggest that its self-driving, humans will naturally look for a way
