That depends, I suppose, on whether personality is a function of memory or of innate behavior patterns and proclivities built into one’s brain structure. I think it’s a mix of both in humans, and it could be in AIs as well. The Syfy series Dark Matter is on similar lines — the lead characters are former villains…
