Because the tension between Batman and the GCPD is one of the most interesting things about Gotham Central, even if Batman isn't present for most of the story. Because Gotham Central was about living in a world where supervillains exist instead of just people who could, one day, become supervillains.

Since I have obtained the latest Humble Indie Bundle, I will be making my way through those games when I am not dealing with house guests. I've started a few of them already.

As far as I know, indefinitely. It doesn't sound like they have any plans to take it down, especially since a large number of the backers only have streaming access as well. That doesn't mean they'll stay up forever, but I'm sure they'd want to give us fair warning before they take the episodes down.

I definitely whole-heartedly agree! I think the documentary does a pretty good job of illustrating and demystifying a lot of the artistic/creative process, and that is really impressive to me.
