Life of Bryan (month python)
There’s an excellent argument that the true protagonist of 2001 never actually appears in the story. I don’t want to spoil this one if you’ve never read it, but it really opened up my reading of the film, and I no longer found the relative flatness of the human characters to be a stumbling block.
Too small to read. Not signing up for Pinterest.
It doesn’t have a planetary magnetic field because it no longer seems to have a circulating metallic core. However, large parts of the planet have remnant magnetic fields created when iron-rich magma cooled millions, if not billions of years ago in the presence of the long-gone planetary field.
Apparently (in the article) there are still local spots of magnetic anomalies.
That’s the main point that makes me think the complaint is bullshit with another agenda.
After 7 years and a whole lot of vampire sex watching, I’m leaving io9. Gather up friends, this is the goodbye post.
In an old commie apartment block in an industrial town in hungary in the 80s my great uncle (he walked back from siberia on 2 mis-set legs the soviets gave him by breaking his legs and letting him heal up in one of their ‘can’t stand up/can’t sit down’ cell-boxes, village babushkas risking their lives to give him…
I know this doesn’t quite count as a set, but I would add the glider/parachuting scene from A Bridge Too Far. They had to show a massive airdrop of troops, tanks, jeep, etc.
Ok - the ‘maintenance-free’ part is good. But just do away with those training-wheels, because that’s how not to learn to ride a bike. Kids can learn it without them, believe it or not! The argument behind it: ‘exploring the space’ (in this case, testing the boundaries of balance) is an important factor in learning a…
I don’t think you even realize just how much this book was meant to be read aloud until you read it aloud. Even JRRT’s often-maligned songs become kind of magical when you make up a little tune and sing them. (Yes, I know Tolkien wrote music to at least one of them. I guess you could use that instead of making…
Maybe. They have been shown to be useful for treating specific issues, such as antibiotic-induced diarrhea, but they are completely untested for most things they are claimed to cure. They are nutrient-supplements, meaning that they are almost completely unregulated, which (as has been shown recently with herbal…
How about a non-editable typo in a correction reply to a correction message? “Worse” :p
Archivist. “Why do you even bother to keep paper in the 21st century? Can’t you just digitize everything?”
I am a landscape Architect:
I think Jonah Hill and Michael Cera will kill it as the two bumbling Martians trying to steal Damon’s supply of Love.
Did not realize this Home Alone reboot is also the prequel for Interstellar.
Add to our queue. ; )
