1) The 15% loss is an extremely antiquated assumption. Modern drive trains are much more efficient.

My brother had the exact opposite impression of him. He met him a few times at charity parties in Vienna and said he was one of the most down to earth cool guys. My brother had no idea who he was at the time and just wondered why this old guy with scars always wore a cap. It was when Rush came out and I was telling…
When Tiger Woods won last month at Augusta, all the talking heads were saying it was the “greatest comeback in the history of sports”. The first I thought of was Niki. It will be a very long time if ever before we see someone go from last rights to the grid in six weeks to World Champion in a year. Heroic stuff.
That movie was great. Highly recommend it to anyone.
All the fucks! Another of my childhood heroes gone too soon.
Sounds exactly how I would expect a Niki Lauda encounter to go.
That’s why his personality was worth $4,999,999 dollars. He told it the way he saw it an never saw himself as wrong. Try being the Boeing engineer who wanted him to believe that pilot error crashed his 767. He forced them to eat their words. It’s what he did. Great story by the way.
While he had the personality of a no nonsense driver (kimi-like almost), in person he was a pretty cool guy and was willing to chat strategy with a pair of nobodies who somehow got into the mercedes team tent. short replies but never pushed us away. RIP herr lauda
I remember watching Rush and the iconic Lauda line,
Probably not the most advisable way to Add Lightness, but it’s clearly working for him!
Monger Wages War on Adversity, Triumphs
There is ALWAYS an excuse. “If this car was $10k cheaper!” “If it had option X or more power!” “It weighs too much!”
90% of commenters would totally shell out $100k for an RS6 Avant if Audi would just have the good sense to bring it stateside.
But they put it on the base model. The 3.3T AWD should have a manual option too.
Jalopnik commenters: “If automakers would just offer more manuals, they’d see that people are willing to buy these cars!”
“We knew the take rate for the manuals, even with the other performance upgrades that come in the 2.0T Sport (manual) package, wouldn’t be that great, but we wanted to be able to offer it to show how much we appreciate the enthusiasts in the market that prefer manuals,”

You can’t get a hole in your fragile 1911 radiator if it isn’t in the front of the car.
Engine starts with ‘E’ and radiator starts with ‘R’, therefor the radiator goes after the engine.
