I was driving up the 99 here in mid-California when I saw a 2007 (or so) Ford Edge pass me adorned in Tesla Model X badging! The Edge itself wasn’t in the best of shape, and I’m kicking myself for not getting a photo, but that it tried to (humorously, I’m sure) pass as a Model X was quite the bold move!

I’ve been Auto-Xing a 2010 Tesla Roadster for several years now and in my experience a 6-run event with two drivers uses approximately 25% of the battery charge. The Roadster is relatively old and doesn’t have nearly as much range as the newer EVs so Id assume 10% is totally possible on a national level 3-run event.

To be fair, most cars will fail at real road-course racing. It’s usually going to be brakes first, but then there’s differentials, gearboxes, electronic intrusions, overheating water and/or oil (e.g. Corvette), etc.

please, no more.  this is all so depressing

this is the stupidest goddamn thing i’ve seen on this website, and I watched the entire video of Barry killing himself with scrambled eggs.  fuck

McLaren claims that they use “Optimal Control Theory” for the suspension. I wonder if that is just a marketing term, or if they are really implementing a system using optimal control. I am a Control Systems Engineer, and Optimal Control has a specific technical meaning. It is a control algorithm using state-space

I dig’em on my S550

They want to be the buyers emotional friend.

So the Miata comes in carrot juice orange (if you can get it), 3 different whites, dark grey, black, typical red, and a depressing blue. Hey Mazda, offer a sky blue or aqua blue, maybe a British racing green, yellow even. It’s a fun car, paint it like one.

ACR is going to kick the shit out of you for saying that.

Don’t forget the Pioneer.

Stripes can be not awful.

So... you’re welcome for the inspiration for this. =)

Wow. Those are real questions rather than just bagging on Tracy.

David’s been rustitutionalized.

The real MPG, how it feels compared to an F-150 XL Fx4 that’s cheaper by a longshot, is that rear window manual or powered, how the ride quality compares to Chevy’s fancy magnets, if you’d rather have duratracs instead of hankooks, how the thing accelerates compared to the tacoma’s 3.5 w/ auto and the chevy’s v6. Can

What do they call it when people get out of prison (or the military) and can’t cope with a sanitized, predictable, safe world all day long?

How does it feels to drive something that looks, smells and runs good ?

I will mention that I’m not sure the midship configuration is particularly advantageous in an EV since electric motors weigh significantly less than ICEs.
