@S-Express: If that's the way you want to look at it then try to keep this in mind:

@dcdttu: That is the rumor that has never truly been substantiated. Yes the G1's ROM is smaller than that of some newer models, but the idea that future updates will be too big really has no grounding. It has been based purely on speculation.

@jellotime91: I get what you're saying, but I think what's worth keeping in mind is that there hasn't been any substantiated proof that the G1 and the Magic won't get the update. Beyond that, I think when you lock yourself into a phone for 2 years you just have to expect that something cooler is going to come out

@jellotime91: I still have no idea where this idea that the G1 won't get anything past 1.6 popped up. It just seemed to spark out of nothing, never really get confirmed, and is now treated as fact despite that no figures on how much space the 2.0 update will take have ever surfaced.

@wickedcupofjoe: Hmm. Well maybe I shouldn't haven extended the assumption to Verizon and Sprint then. At least T-mobile does the same, as I upped my plan a measly $5 or so dollars a month to counteract a $150+ overage for the month. All it took was a call to ask about the charge, and the rep told me she could

@wickedcupofjoe: Psst! Not to rain on your happy-with-AT&T-parade, but I think it's general policy to knock off huge charges in exchange for a minor upping of the plan for the month. T-mobile has done that for me, and I assume Sprint and Verizon will do the same #cellphones

Carl Sagan somehow always manages to put a big silly grin across my face. But it's also sad to think how much we're missing without him or Arthur Clarke. I miss you guys #autotunecarlsagan

That pesky 528mhz number is really becoming a problem

@essplode: It still clicks? Gah, didn't they realize how much of a hassle that was to deal with? I couldn't type fast for beans on that thing.

@dragon: ONE: If I were a sidekick user, I would bail on the sidekick completely, since microsoft/danger blew it and not T-Mobile. At least this way they can switch to newer phone for cheaper...
