I’d say it also depends on where you are. Car dealers from Monterey Bay to San Diego tend to have gray-scale only in stock with just a few colors, while the dealerships in Salt Lake City have most every color available. I want to say only crazy people have black cars in the South.

I also remember Jack Baruth saying something similar when he wrote about his old A5 that was lime green with a butterscotch interior.

A friend of mine with a penchant for high-powered, hand-built Audis once told me that most German automakers will let you custom order any color you want on a car.

I was that high school dork when I got a cherry 280zx from the original owner. All I did was remove the factory stereo to put in a CD player, unfortunately the guy who was paid to do it cut up the factory stereo’s faceplate (really!) to mount the new radio. It was all downhill after that.

A seemingly unmolested early 3-Series for less than $3 grand? NP for sure.

before I moved back to Utah, I had to get new tires. due to money concerns I elected to just buy some all-season tires (I know), so I ordered a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 AS XLs from Tire Rack. As near as I could tell they were the best all-seasons in the snow, so far so good.

In December I moved back to Salt Lake City from San Diego with an MK6 GTI I picked up in SoCal last April. This is from the first snow of the season.
