Pretty much the whole point of the various parts of the Ghost in the Shell franchise was rolling around in uncharted futures and yes, the idea of self apart from body, and what is ‘self’, which you pointed out is very different than an amnesia plot.

I play beer league with a cage; sticks flying everywhere. That said, that goalie is a fucking idiot.

The assailant should be in jail longer, and I don’t blame the victim, but if I’m not being paid a million dollars to play hockey then I’m definitely wearing a face shield/cage.

Why would the NHL fund a completely unrelated organization that doesn’t drive any of their revenue? Us hockey gets almost all of their money from youth league dues, so I’d imagine this will result in cuts somewhere in their development program.

Their main source of revenue is from youth leagues paying dues (and some beer league). Paying the women more won’t bring anymore revenue, so theoretically, something will be cut.

“Do you know fast you were going?”

It’s still a shitty design whether or not any of us actually ordered one.

The 20 fans in attendance with be thrilled

Good lord that shit is ugly.

Nah, if you are flying with passes you basically have to wear business casual. They will refuse you if you are wearing jeans, let alone leggings.

...pass traveler...

Through the whole process, I think Oakland has ignored the economic repercussions of losing the team. The city’s bail bond industry is about to completely crash.

“Oh no. We’ll lose all those Raider fans,” said city officials, while unsuccessfully trying to keep from laughing.

My guess is that the eleventh-hour proposal was merely for the sake of appearances (“We tried! They were the last ones to say no!”), and the Oakland city government is not-so-secretly thrilled to finally be rid of a team and league they wish they’d never brought back from LA.

Sad Keanu is sad because he didn’t get to have tea with Miss McGill.

Isn’t it the charge that qualifies any hold of that nature?

Makeup would count (“or other device”). So illegal, at the very least it is ‘Probably Cause’ to be arrested for it. Cops are told to enforce the letter of the law, it’s up to the courts to determine the meaning or edges of the law. He may get convicted of it, he may not. But he did have something on his face that

Bullshit. Most of the article is spent making excuses for this guy, while making it seem as if the law is unreasonable and would be used to crack down on protesters and cosplayers.

So no explanation from him him of why he was doing what he was doing ?

Depends on the sport. Training stipends are more common in the women’s field because there aren’t as many opportunities to make a living wage outside the national team. But there are salaries paid in women’s soccer because they often can’t make enough to live and train on otherwise.
