I was surprised when I read this, then I thought about the men I know who have taken parental leave versus the ones who didn’t... Not all the men I know who had sons took parental leave, but of the ones who did, their babies were boys.

That’s one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard!

That is interesting. First-born children are slightly more likely to be male, could that be a factor?

I kept thinking how awesome it would be for Kilgrave to run into a deaf person, try to control him/her, and fail. A disability turned into a superpower.

Exactly how I saw it. He claims to want Jessica to be with him willingly, and maybe he even believes it, but it’s NOT what he really wants because he can’t handle not being in control. It was so telling how he kept insisting he gave her everything she wanted, not realizing that it was what he thought she SHOULD want.

I was wondering how such a power could be used for “good”, and all I could come up with was for dealing with people in crisis. Hostage negotiation as we saw, suicidal people, people with severe mental illness. “You don’t want to kill yourself. You don’t need to drink. You’re feeling calm and in control.” It wears off

Malcolm was one of my favourite characters.

From one foreigner to another, thanks for asking - I was wondering the same thing.

I’ve been so looking forward to it, I’m going to start watching tomorrow night. I haven’t seen ANY of the other shows/movies associated with it, not a single one, but I’m excited about this one!

I don’t see anywhere where they ASKED people from the culture supposedly under attack how they feel about people doing yoga...

My mother criticizes my weight, hair, and clothes every chance she gets. How am I supposed to pick just one episode? I can tell you that when she saw me after I’d lost a lot of weight, she was quietly pissed.

Won’t that little girl be disappointed when she discovers that they don’t make Leia or Rey toys, because toymakers are only interested in selling Star Wars toys to boys and think girls should only buy dolls.

Ug! Thanks for letting me know. I’m going to watch anyway, hope they don’t *go there* or aren’t in-your-face about it if they do.

I’ve never seen Daredevil or any of the Avengers stuff but I’m watching this! Plus the hot bartender is played by the hot drug lord from The Good Wife. I just hope that the relationship between Jessica Jones and the Purple Man isn’t sexualized, from what I understand it wasn’t in the source material. Film makers of

I read it before too and I also think she’s deluded herself. She insists he likes all the same literature and music that SHE likes.

As I learned recently right here at Jezebel, Julianna Margulies has to wear a wig on The Good Wife because her hair is naturally curly and the producers thought that a governor’s wife couldn’t have curly hair.

About freaking time someone provided clothing for plus-sized women. I’ve heard rumours (yes I spelled that right spell-check) that they have money too!

He should realize he’s not paid millions to play golf, he’s paid millions to let people watch him play golf!

I’m no fan of Tiger Woods but I’d snarl at someone who took a photo of me without permission.

Not long ago a restaurant owner hosting a function for us told us about having a NHL team dine in his restaurant and pay only 2/3 of the bill. When he asked them to pay the full amount they told him they expected a 50% discount because of who they were.
