I was surprised when I read this, then I thought about the men I know who have taken parental leave versus the ones who didn’t... Not all the men I know who had sons took parental leave, but of the ones who did, their babies were boys.

Exactly how I saw it. He claims to want Jessica to be with him willingly, and maybe he even believes it, but it’s NOT what he really wants because he can’t handle not being in control. It was so telling how he kept insisting he gave her everything she wanted, not realizing that it was what he thought she SHOULD want.
I was wondering how such a power could be used for “good”, and all I could come up with was for dealing with people in crisis.
