Huh.
Huh.
I don’t know why we’re so concerned about justifying that we all agree the Lexus SC430 looks dumb... we all agree AND that car doesn’t have feelings... so it’s OK!!
Sometimes you mention a salvage title or some other huge ‘uh oh’ early on so that we have the rest of the article to maybe get over it and then wrestle over the price in our minds. But that price seemed insane from the start, and then the death blow was that salvage title. The vicious right hook or whatever. Salvage…
I didn’t vote. I really don’t like these. And I like some really (traditionally considered) weird/ugly looking cars. But this. Nah.
It’s just too much. 2003 LR Discovery II owner here. It’s too much because no matter how careful the last owner was, the maintenance never stops. Think about dropping this kind of coin and still having monthly or even semi-monthly trips to your favorite garage. I bought mine for basically a fifth of this price. And…
Yea that was a weird-as-hell addition to the listing!! 12 hours in this thing plus a night’s stay in any hotel at all and a ‘suitable’ truck. Awesome day, bro.
You win the day. Infinitely better.
Exact same thought. If I was in the market for something fun that wasn’t gonna kill me and I also wanted it to be unique and a conversation-starter, 2500 is right around where I’d want to be. I’ve also never ridden a motorcycle of any kind. But I went NP as well. This one was a surprisingly fun Thursday NPoCP for me.
You are right. That said, your comment cracked me up because, growing up, my dad used to get driven up a wall by people not vacuuming their cars (and armor-alling, etc) before they tried to sell them. Because I was more interested in my older brother’s first car than my brother was, I would go with my dad looking at…
I yanked it at about 7:20 that morning
Seriously tho. I don’t live in Macomb County but had to drive over there for work last week. Mound Road is absolutely beyond belief, how bad it is. I’d love to get one of Doug Demuro’s free rental cars and just plow down Mound at the speed limit and take a vid to post. It’s incredible.
The reactions I get (having a gf who is into cars) are either really enthusiastic or just sort of a distracted look away with a monotone ‘oh, yea...’ (which is her being nice... usually from something old and underpowered that I get momentarily obsessed with). So, I’ve learned to interpret the latter as ‘does that…
Agreed! Where is The Man of Many Jeeps when we need him??
Say it again!! Ding ding ding!! Macomb County roads are a damn mess. Glad I live in Dearborn, where they’re ‘not so bad.’

Yes. Every old car requires maintenance. Every old car makes for some headaches. Some, a LOT of headaches. This car, with the body and interior looking as straight as it is, and a good number of miles to back up good, regular use rather than being tucked away in a garage? I’d go for it.
I don’t need another headache. Importing this, I mean. I already have a job, a land rover in the shop and a fiero that’s getting a new engine this year. So, no thanks.
I was born in ‘81 and I remember Geo having TV ads that made them look awesome! I remember that VERY clearly.
Is 300 a movie about a Chrysler??
I like manual transmissions for the ‘whole body’ thing. Must include: 1) Clutch. 2) Stick. I don’t want a video-game-like control. Thanks! Oh and 45k for THIS? No, not that either.
