Nice Write up Wes, reminds me a bit of my experience where I spent 23 hours exploring Soul, South Korea. Except we didn't sleep at all.

Have a pair of these same boots and love them. Have used them for hiking all over the northeast in cold nasty weather, and they have never let me down.
To me it all comes down to temperature really. I'll preface that by saying that all my hiking and backpacking is fairly lightweight (sub 25lbs on my back), so I try to use the lightest things I think I can get away with.
This is awesome. I'm from Maine and have hiked in Baxter many times, though I've never heard this story. Definitely going to tell it the next time I'm up in the park.
Never even imagined that this was actually a thing. Super cool!
No haha, I realized after I posted that that someone would probably ask that. My point, which probably got a bit convoluted there, was that 4wd and awd–with or without–snow tires, doesn't let you safely drive any faster.
I think you are confusing your different frictions a bit here. A car usually experiences rolling friction when moving. You want to avoid static and dynamic friction in a car as much as possible. If you have dynamic friction that means your wheels have locked up and you are now sliding as a single object, I.E.…
Wes, thank you, thank you, thank you for starting this off with tires and AWD! Having grown up in Maine and then spending winter time out in Montana recently, I have seen a ridiculous amount of large 4 wheel drive trucks and AWD SUV's and Subaru's in the ditch. The amount of people who live in snowy places and don't…
Great to here some success stories about tinder'ing while abroad, Chris! I've successfully gone on a few dates through tinder while in the states, but it never lead to anything while I was traveling. Then again I was not super vigilant about actually getting onto the app and using it, so user error might be mostly to…
Really thought the cup was made out of poop at first.
Good to know! I never researched it past figuring out that my Verizon Moto x would work with foreign sim cards.
Even though I know nothing will happen, that music just put me on edge just enough that I was just waiting for something to jump out of that gif at me.
You would be surprised at how many soft spoken old Vietnamese men walk around Vietnam dressed in similarly ridiculous (and awesome) shirts.
These. They remind me so much of Thomas the tank engine from when I was a child.
On the international roaming bit, I know (for Verizon at least) that most modern smartphones come internationally GSM unlocked, meaning you can buy a local sim and pop it in to get internet access while at your travel destination without having to try and argue with your provider about getting an unlock code.…
Looks like an awesome time Chris! I've been enjoying reading through your adventures now that I'm back from my own travels. If you guys are looking for more climbing (and are still in the area), I would highly, highly recommend going deepwater free soloing (climbing without a rope and then jumping–or falling–into the…
I must say, from my experience of being in the southern Thai islands a few months ago, stay away from Koh Phi Phi. There are many other much less developed–and less frat party-esque–islands in the area. From the chilled out Koh Lanta, to the ecological resort and national park filled Ko Yao Noi. These islands were…
Good Sunglasses. Once you start wearing a pair with good optics (and polarization, in my opinion) you will never go back. You will feel blind.
Tantalizing video for sure, but as far as musical content goes, Chet's cover of "No Diggity" is still my favorite.
You sir, win todays "complete dickbag of the internet award". Get back to me when you've experienced what life is actually about.
