Be fair - Trump just is the latest in a looooong line of presidents who kowtow to Saudi royalty. Not a justification by any means, but “fuck Trump” in this sense doesn’t capture how deep this problem goes.

I’m gonna catch hell for saying this, I’m sure, but California’s street design guidelines are generally well-developed in relation to most other places in the country.

My guess is that this is an alley, based on how narrow the street is and how close all the driveways are. So the regulations are much less stringent about turnarounds and such, because its not a proper “street”.

In our area, the fire department requires 150 feet of street before requiring a hammerhead or a cul-de-sac at the end. My guess is that this is technically an alley, and their city ordinance doesn’t cover alleys the same as they do streets.

The civil designer in me is mentally trying to justify this shit design.
