I enjoyed the first season, but think they made some big mistakes, as well. I feel that drawing out the first book past one season led to some dragging and pace issues (re-using a couple Miller scenes in the finale to pad it our really drove that home). I love Avasaralla as a character, but bringing her in this season

No apology required.

Let’s not delude ourselves. The only reason this is set during WWI is to differentiate from Captain America. If you really think there was a meticulous deliberation at WB/DC over reframing the origin setting in order to better nuance the character, I have a bridge to sell you.

Aside from the Cant’s destruction and the medic losing his head (lol) they haven’t even gotten to the really Oh, Shit moments in the book either

Inners don’t give a shit, sa sa?

These were taken before the Martians took all the water off of Ceres, isn’t it? Maybe the OPA is right.

For me, it was that the sniveling, whiney, stupid kid, Zac, didn’t get more screen time in The Strain.

Pacing issues, too many characters spread thin, too much super obvious product placement (addidas, audi, underarmor,), too many forced one-liners, when mr. addidas here died I didn’t even care... It was soooo dissapointing after having seen gotten my hopes up after the excellent Winter Soldier and guardians of the

“Helium 3”

They tell Uhura about the movie. She laughs derisively.

One thing I found interesting: both book and show kept the Victorian era mindset toward evolution being an advancement toward — well, toward something — whereas evolutionary biologists of today are rather set on the idea that evolution is about change, not “improvement.” Even the phrase “the next step in evolution” is

Easiest fix possible,

I like the little touchs like the when Miller pours the whisky and has to take into account the coriolis forces

Agreed - found this book really enjoyable and a quick read. I particularly enjoyed how the characters struggled with the destruction of Alderan as well as the death of their comrades on the Death Star. The romance is totally cliched but doesn’t detract from the story.

I LOVED this book. Honestly one of the best Star Wars books I’ve read. I really hope she writes a sequel because I need to know what happens after that cliffhanger ending.

This episode just didn’t work for me. Iget what they were trying to do here, but the plot was too contrived and almost arbitrary, and it didn’t feel anywhere near as organic as it should have. There was a way to do this right, but they didn’t do he heavy lifting to get there. Clara died partially because she decided

I always felt like Yoda should have transcended the need to use a lightsaber, like he should have been able to talk Dooku down or just shut him down physically with his proficiency with the force. Having him do flips and shit with a dinky little glowstick just cheapened the character.
