In a perfect world, nothing you’ve suggested is unreasonable.
Mostly agreed and I think we’re on the same page. I’m also in the minority with you in that I am firmly against the death penalty.
Yes!! I had forgotten this movie!
I was kind of surprised to see even discussing explicit graphic violence will get an R-rating, at least according to the Wiki site on how they choose ratings.
I was going to point out that life itself is R-rated, but I prefer your comment.
I know where you’re coming from and why you don’t want to paint them, or anyone, with such a broad brush, but outside of comments online, I don’t see many people saying what you read them as saying. I think most people assume the #notall goes without saying.
I think it’s a safe assumption to say the something hateful in him existed before Trump. I think that’s also safe to say of a large portion of Trump supporters. They have something broken inside them that simultaneously wants to be a victim (which Trump plays on) while also victimizing those “others” they can blame…
I’ve never worn blackface but just because someone paints they’re face doesn’t make them racism
Same. I wait for it all week and hit the page periodically throughout the day to see if it’s been posted yet.
I thought the same thing. I don’t care quite enough to look it up and see if they ever made nice, but she *is* very much his type.
Very true. It’s a cheap trick when it’s only the jarring sound that gives the jump. This one made it on one of those lists for scariest horror moments ever and, even when I know it’s coming, it still gets me.
Easily my biggest jump and gasp in the entirety of the series. Love it!
In the real world, of course, she’s still a racist, bigoted shitbag.
And she had blonde hair, making the blackface wearer’s costume unrecognizable in the first place.
She’s one of those people who seems to get a lot of credit for instances of behavior we tend to expect all the time from others.
I admit, I had forgotten about Matt Lauer. That is shamefully sad and a symptom of scandal fatigue.
You are correct, of course, but I’m still happy it is being cancelled at all.
