It seems to me that the law is accomplishing exactly what was intended. People can choose not to get vaccinated, but then they forfeit the privilege of attending school and playing sports with the rest of us. They are choosing their own semi-isolation from polite society.

I know an anti-vaxxer, she is a otherwise a very nice person. I posted a cartoon on my facebook about how stupid it is not to vaccinate your kids. She practically wrote me an essay on how none of her three kids are vaccinated and gave me a link with some ridiculously easy to debunk “facts” about the causes of autism…

A friend of mine has done her best to educate an anti-vaxxer in her family with little success. It’s ended with the anti-vaxxer being uninvited to family get togethers. Tough in some ways but vital given 2 of the rest of the family are at higher risk for infection.

Did they not get the Public Service Announcement??

Lauding her drive and willingness to do amazing things is great, and I’m sure as hell sad about this, but calling people gutless and sheep because they choose not to take unnecessary risks for an adrenaline thrill is some really pathetic projecting.

I used to work near a mid-size regional airport. There were nearly always at least 4-5 guys sitting around, watching the runways, listening to radio chatter and taking pictures of every single takeoff and landing then excitedly discussing the plane, what kind of load it had, what the pilot did during the event etc.
