After Season 2, I love him madly. He is the best.

I need to rewatch this.

“Simon Russell Beale returns as Dr. Ferdinand Lyle.”

I’m going to be contrarian and add another data point. The soles of my feet are really sensitive, like “uncomfortable walking on a paved sidewalk barefoot” sensitive. I’d much rather run through a jungle in heels or pretty much any kind of foot covering than in my bare feet because stepping on a rock or a tree root in

“People I know” isn’t a statistical demographic.

This.

Maaaaybe. I would love a return to some Holmes/Hinchcliffe Gothic storytelling. But then I think “eye booger monsters” and I start to feel cranky that that’s a thing I ever have to type.

I thought Robots of Sherwood was fun, but otherwise his episodes are “meh” at best, and I may never forgive him for eye booger monsters.

I’d like to take a moment to celebrate that Mark Gatiss is not the new show runner.

Agreed.

Alas, Journeyman was ahead of its time.

I loved that Dottie’s outfit and hat and hair were not quite as sharp as Peggy’s from the first season, reinforcing that Dottie can only ever be a slightly degraded photocopy (or mimeograph, given the era). She can’t capture the essence of Peggy.

I thought the movie was pretty awesome, but admittedly it’s been several years since I watched it.

Now playing

Might I also recommend this? Wildly entertaining no-budget fun.

Because by all means we should continue to be confined by the attitudes about gender from the ‘60s rather than allowing our storytelling to grow and change with society.

Ugh. “Head” not “had.”

Truly Madly Deeply is one of my favorite Alan Rickman movies. I’ve been hearing him sing “The sun ain’t gonna shine anymore ....” in my had all morning.

I just watched that a few days ago. It was a brilliant episode.

I completely agree. I would have been on board with this show a long time ago if there had been a way to catch up on past seasons other than shelling out for DVDs.
