Funnily enough, that was actually one of my favourite parts of The Last Jedi (they better not change it), a film I otherwise feel ambivalent about, because I like the idea that a Jedi can be anyone old schmoe and not simply someone who was born into it. So yeah, it was ‘clever and interesting'.

“I’m sick of being labelled a sexist for disliking a movie. Here’s a bunch of vague criticisms that I hope will distract from my desire for this movie to be exactly like the fanfic I wrote 15 minutes after seeing TFA” is the worst fucking thing right now.

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone when I read the various negative reactions to this film. Like, I genuinely do not understand how we saw the same film

I’m truly bewildered as it’s pretty obvious. I saw another article where they said it’s a “a fan theory” that Bash is gay. Like, no. He is gay. The question is whether he’ll ever acknowledge it to himself.

Dude, you need to recalibrate your sarcasm detector.

The funny thing is that you say his queerness is easily identifiable to people in 2018, but you wouldn’t believe how many people out there are either a) confused by his storyline b) debating whether he will end up without Rhonda or Carmen (thanks Cosmo) or c) shipping him with female characters. It was obvious to me

Alternate translation: If I like a girl character, people are gonna think I’m gay or something!  Stop making me gay, Rian Johnson!

Edit: From their site’s summary

Another clueless dude using the “As a husband, a son, and future father...” BS statement. Commence eye roll.

She will, for Disney it’s all about money

Right? I always found it so hilarious that they took “Lord Asriel kills Roger and tears apart the fabric of the universe to go punch god in the face” and turned it into “they all fly away in a hot air balloon yay!”

This is for all the people who complain that any criticism of non-white male characters is dismissed as sexist or racist.

TLJ was a broad deconstruction of Star Wars mythology on dual levels, picking apart some of Lucas’ more stodgy ideas as well as breaking down in-universe Jedi (and Sith) cruft as well.

“I personally believe that U. S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don’t have opinions and, uh, I believe that our opinions, like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should—our opinions over here in the U. S. should

Either I’m really old, or socially excluded enough that I have no experience with any of this. I’m kind of happy about that, to be honest.

I have two words for you: Therm Scissorpunch.

I used to work for Kroger in the corporate customer service department. we got complaints all the time about our cashiers being rude to people on assistance. it’s pretty gross, especially since retail pays so poorly that you KNOW a ton of those cashiers are on assistance TOO

Any time someone uses evolutionary psychology as the crux of their argument you know they are full of bullshit. This guy is an imbecile.

I just don’t think I’ve ever heard of a progressive, unmarried, child-free couple that wasn’t inundated with a metric ton of cats and dogs.

Although, on that note (and I know I’m going to catch shit for this), I always find it embarrassing as shit when someone tries substituting children with pets. Like... this person

It doesn’t sound real.
