Styrofoam coolers are going to last longer if you’re not banging them around. Which is what I already said.

If properly taken care of even with your expanded definition I bet a cheap foam cooler will still last longer if the same care is shown to it. The foam cooler isn’t relying on some liner (maybe wax like a paper cup?) to retain its structural integrity.

It looks like a standard brake caliper suffering from Osteoporosis...

It has to do with the fact that a foam cooler will stand up to liquid almost indefinitely, which is the problem to begin with.

A case where the objectively better description is also subjectively worse.

Here we go again with my usual mantra that more autonomy begets less attentive drivers which begets more autonomy which begets less attentive drivers which begets more autonomy....

Actually consumers *are* getting what they want. Enthusiasts are a shrinking minority.  People would rather text than drive.  It’s the sad vicious cycle of more automation creating less engaged drivers creating more automation creating less engaged drivers...

I wonder how much of this delay in production is due to lessons learned from the launch of first generation direct injection, and they want the engine to last as long as possible.

Glass can be solid even over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, so I would imagine a horizontal rain of it would roughly be about the same either way, i.e. a horrifying, agonizing nightmare of a burning hot rain of despair and death.

Solid glass implies lower temperatures.  So in that sense, objectively better, or something.

The steering wheel may be the most bacteria resides but I generally don’t care as long as they are not crusty with gunk. Every surface you touch is going to be dirty, I just don’t want that surface to be covered with miscellaneous detritus.

I don’t pass judgement on people who want to drive the speed limit on surface streets. Just don’t take a minute to accelerate to a respectable speed for no good reason if you’re not a semi truck. Because frankly I drive the speed limit on streets, so yea, enjoy riding the rear of my car. I will however edge up a bit

Can you name a single competitive first person shooter player who is at or near the top of their respective major game? This is not a challenge, well maybe sort of a little, but I’m really curious.

I have a 1995 Ford Probe GT (147k+ miles) with kinda/sorta the same-ish issue. Turning the ignition switch results in the usual clicking of relays and everything else involved, EXCEPT for the starter motor actually turning. However persistence pays off and someTimes it will start on the first try (and occasionally

$kayception.  Jalopnik can’t handle that.

More importantly, at least she didn’t kill someone else with her moment of stupidity.

This. Easy modest tune for a few hundred dollars will probably fix it.  Trying to get the Toyobaru an equivalent amount of more power surely requires more than that.
