I have never watched Drew’s show, and I’m kinda ‘mkay’ with her performances to date. But she seems to be Jezebel’s latest darling. I did watch a montage of clips from her show. Who she reminds me of most? Lucille Ball. And that’s ok with me. Women do NOT get to act like fun-loving kids when they grow up, unlike men

Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest were so charming in this movie. My sister and I have joked (but probably mean it) that we are going to spend our old age like them; bebopping around in eccentric clothes, waking people up for midnight cocktails.

I feel like I’ve seen this trend become a thing during my lifetime and I saw it as a pushback against the summer culture that reigned in the 80s and 90s. Women started enjoying a season where we get to be less social, more comfortably dressed and eating rich, delicious foods with less judgement from those around us. Su

Yeah, you could tell she saw it because her facial expression changed. She straightened up just a bit and her face suddenly went blank, like she wasn’t believing what she was seeing:

In case anyone was wondering, yes the Biden campaign started selling fly swatters.

I don’t think anyone’s asking them to “just give” all 200,000 Disney employees $10,000 (incidentally, you don’t “just give” employees money, that is called a salary). I think the question is what Disney should do about the 28,000 workers who are being laid off, and to that end, the CEO of Disney happens to be worth

Any person’s religious beliefs should be questioned. Theoretically, we have separation of church and state.  Religion is just another form of corruption and power. If it weren’t there wouldn’t be so many of them.

Maybe this will finally teach Americans to save?

Ah yes, the super-iconic Mario catchphrase “WHOSE CAP?”

I agree it sucks that in an unequal dynamic, the people with greater power only tend to (voluntarily) change when their self-interest is appealed to. :/ But that’s a really deep-seated part of human nature that I don’t think we have the agency to change, at least not quickly.

I have two thoughts on this topic (also I am a cis-gendered man so take all of this with a grain of salt).

I am curious what solution others seem to have for this problem then. I have read both Liz Plank’s book and Jackson Katz’s books on this topic. And although I agree that reading and understanding the systems at play could potentially absolve someone of their agency. I also don’t see the way forward is shaming men who

I’ve actually found this to be a real time saver in my life since 2016. A Trump sign, MAGA hat, or “all lives matter” social media post instantly tells me everything I need to know about a person, right off the bat!

I miss being able to put leafy greens and chocolate pudding on the same plate for a reasonable price.

and the age-old trope of men fighting animals.

This show is like daytime TV described by someone hallucinating in a hospital bed.

I don't know, short of Wallace telling Trump to shut the fuck up, I don't think much could be helped. And frankly he did tell him, just in a non vulgar way.

That creeped the hell out of me. He lies so often, why couldn’t he manage to there? Something like, “Why yes of course I denounce racists!” We would know he was lying, but still. And he wouldn’t alienate his base because they’re stupid.

You really think Chris Wallace is the problem?? 🤣🤣🤣
