Yep.  When a base model Maverick costs more than a top level car from another manufacturer, I’ll go with the other car and get all the nifty bells and whistles.

Not a chance. After reading 2 decades of horror stories about this and the W12 in the Phaeton along with watching my mother’s Cabriolet disassemble itself slowly into component pieces there is no possibility that would ever buy a VW of this vintage.

I’ve been seeing a growing number of small businesses with Mavericks (pool cleaners, landscaping, painters, etc) around town and some of my clients/contractors have been ordering them too. The Maverick is excellent for those folks who just want a truck bed to house basic equipment for easy access.
