A lot. Maybe Zhao just wasn’t the person for the job this time. She’s never directed a movie like this or a project so large. Maybe hiring the person who directed the action-packed Nomadland just wasn’t the right call.

Hope they ditch the Frances McDormand voiceover.  It was really terrible.

Just seems like another reach to try to make this title relevant.  It’s a little “ripped from today’s headlines,” but it’s probably hard to keep Superman relevant in any event.  

It’s ok.  It would probably have worked better as an episode of something.

Well, I don’t think this is going to be the feel good book of 2021.

I really enjoyed The Lord of the Rings, but I wouldn’t exactly describe reading The Simarillion as a “treat.”

It’s tough, because Jennings was the obvious fanboy choice.  Let’s just go ahead and hire Aaron Rodgers and get it over with.

If this baby is female, (a) it doesn’t make the cover, and (b) if it did, we’d all feel very differently about it now.

We intended to wipe out Al Qaeda and kill Bin Laden. Anything else was a side benefit.

Some of PKD’s work is decidedly not mainstream, even by the standards of 1970s sci-fi.   I’d characterize PKD novels as high-concept, workmanlike-execution.  He doesn’t have memorable characters or prose, but the concepts for the books are as memorable as they are trippy.

This was going to end badly, regardless or who pulled the plug or when. We just need to get the people who helped us out.
