Agreed. If they must keep the big dish in the middle, at least make the screen circular and have it fill the entire circle.

At least the Mini one only bugs the people inside the car. The Chevy lights thing affects everyone around you in a parking lot, sitting there waiting for someone to back out when they’re actually in park.
put a motor in it so it just spins continuously all the time, whether you touch the knob or not. it’s the only solution.
CDs don’t bother me (and yes, I said “don’t”, not “didn’t”) because I don’t have to look at them all the time. Hell, I wouldn’t mind this knob quirk if it was in some cheap crappy Craigslist beater car. But on a brand new BMW product? I cannot abide.
“If people were taught to drive well. If they actually paid attention to what’s going on ALL THE TIME. If they didn’t drive distracted and drunk. If they actually signaled and used mirrors and engaged their brains.”
Yes.
I think a five-star crash rating is about as good a reason as you could find to build a small car more solidly. Old small cars were absolute deathtraps, and with so many big SUVs and trucks on the road, good safety is more important than ever in small cars.
I prefer small cars as well, to a point. The original Mini is cool, but just a tad too small. The new Mini is still smaller than most other cars, but big enough that it’s not uncomfortable or impractical. I think the current 2-door Mini is just about the perfect size.
Sporty cars, yes. Sports cars by the traditional definition, no (assuming the traditional definition is two doors and RWD/AWD).
“Far larger than the original Mini” is like saying “far more intellectually stimulating than the Michael Bay Transformers saga”. There’s a lot of room there before it gets up to the level of everything else.
I believe it’s only called the Union Jack when it’s flown at sea.
Serious (but kinda silly) question because I might be used car shopping in a few months...
If 40 grand is too much, then the majority of “sports cars” are out of reach as well. I guess you could get a Miata or an EcoBoost Mustang, but you won’t find something with the Mach-E’s performance for less money unless you buy used.
I think we need a new category of performance vehicles that encompasses everything that performs like a sports car but isn’t one. This would cover sport sedans, performance crossovers, things like that. (It also occurs to me to wonder whether the Taycan really is a sports car after all, since it could also be…
Another Hamster shenanigan!
The motor engine flew out of the automobile car when it crash slammed into a plant tree, and it went through the wall door into the house building.
Strong vintage Porsche vibes here, with a hint of Shelby Daytona coupe. I like it.
I predict the next-gen Mustang will have two separate platforms. Obviously the Mach-E will continue on its current platform for a few years, probably well past the introduction of the S650 in late 2022. I think the S650 will probably have a V8 option, an EcoBoost option and a gas-electric AWD hybrid option. It may…
It’s a performance crossover. If it drives like a sports car, is the number of doors and taller stance enough to disqualify it? Obviously four doors doesn’t mean something isn’t a sports car, because the Taycan definitely is one. So what is it then? Just the height? That seems like a pretty small quibble when you…
The best cake is one you can drive.
