It's shocking how easily a bus or truck is able to ply pinball with some average cars. As I watched the video, a similar accident popped into my mind that happened not far from here a couple of days ago.

Thanks for the explanation.

Trabant Tramp. Need I say more?

Well, those were Michelin Primacy HPs - OK, not the best 'sporty' tires, but still, they are - in my humble opinion - far from crappy Michelin Energy Savers (which I really, really hate) and similar eco-tires. I have no clue why Karotta called them "Prius tires".

The original Hungarian language video shows the thread depth measured at the end of the journey: 5 mm. So, suprisingly enough, the tires did pretty well.

A shorter version aired on Hungarian TV channel TV2.

1. Sticking to the inside lane while driving 10-20 mph under the speed limit.

Lada Kalina. Almost picked the Samara, but the Samara is actually a pretty decent cheap car.

Strangely enough, it's a bus... the Ikarus 66. Yeah, Hungary's automotive industry hasn't come up with a decent production passanger car since WWII. So the vehicles we can be proud of include motorbikes, trucks and buses.

The very tasteful golden - bright red SLR.

I think it's a Nissan X-Trail, but I'm not 100% sure.

Whatever caused this accidents, some rally fans can be complete assholes. I've seen the "other guy can stand in the no-spectator zone, so I have the right to" attitude in action. This is when the IQ of people suddenly drops 50% and they start to act like some kind of herd.

It lived for only 1 season, but The Good Guys was similar automobile-wise with the '79 Trans Am.

Boardwalk Empire. I guess I don't have to explain why.

Bentley Brooklands Coupe

Huh-huh, he just, like, put on his turn signal, huh-huh. :-)

Some car makers (like BMW) have their own factory first aid kits. If you buy a car that doesn't come with a factory kit, the dealer will usually throw one in for free together with the warning triangle. After all, these are not very expensive things - the two would set you back the equivalent of about 25-30 bucks.

Yeah, many European countries require you to have visibility vests. Strangely enough, most people here in Hungary think you're supposed to have a vest in the car, although there is no such thing mentioned in the official regulations.

Hungary. Or should I say Hoon-gary? :-)

Where I live, you're supposed to have a first aid kit in your car and the relevant law details the stuff the kit has to contain. Some of these items (like sterile gauze, antiseptics) have an expiration date. In recent weeks, the police has been - reportedly - harassing drivers, checking the expiration dates on their
