Not sure about Jeff DelPapa. However, I daily drive a 2013 Leaf SV. I just had a new battery pack put in it, under warranty. I have owned the car for about 8 months. I knew when buying it that the battery was degraded, and I would qualify for a new pack under warranty. I bought the car the day it was listed, knowing

Does it baby?

I just want a non-luxury wagon option. Something mid-sized, in the 25-35k range. I like my hatchbacks (Focus and Leaf), but bigger, more leg room would be nice. I just really don’t want a crossover or SUV.

Does it still have the same crappy transmission from the last generation?

A Dodge...errr Ram

Sure, but for the twice a year I need to haul something I can’t cram into either of my hatchbacks...I’ll rent a truck. It’s $20 for 1.5 hours at HomeDepot.

It said right in the article that they were investigating to see if the AutoPilot system was even on. For all you know, the victim was on has phone in manual mode and hit the barrier all on his own.

How is charging at home a life style change? I mean I guess I don’t have to drive to the gas station once a week and sit at pump filling up my car. I get home. I plug my car in. I go about my business. My charge timer starts the charging sometime during the night, or wee hours of the morning so it is charged at 7am

Edit...can’t post the damn picture. Use your imagination...

Never forget!

At least in my area, Nashville, I get charged a $100/yr tax to register my Leaf. This is intended to make up for the gas tax I don’t pay.

Great, so let’s trim down that military budget then and force them to cut the fat. It seems that all the safety net programs get cut, but the military gets more money to waste on budget over runs.

On the other hand, I bought a used Nissan Leaf. 2013, 35,000 miles, loaded for $10,800. It had a degraded battery, but Nissan replaced it for free under warranty. I get 94 miles to a charge, plenty to battle my way up i24 to downtown Nashville for work and back. I charge every other day or so, sometimes at work,

I bought one used, a 2013. It has an 8-bar battery, so I understand what you mean about the degradation. I actually have an appointment with Nissan today to do the battery test to start the warranty replacement of the battery pack. Other than that, I think it’s a good car. I paid just over 10k for a 37,000 mile SL

Other than the range, what makes the original Leaf not a good car? It is decently well built. It has a lot of interior room for a car in it’s class (the back leg room is huge compared to my wife’s focus hatchback). It rides well and is comfortable. Maintenance is minimal given it is an EV.

“Why’d you buy a Leaf?” - everyone

Nice deal! This was the only one I could find in my area at the time with the Fast Charge option on it, I would have liked the surround view camera. I am probably going to add a backup camera.
