People have recommended this series to me for probably 20 years. When it was first recommended I picked up Colour of Magic and never finished it. I always felt kind of bad since the way this series is talked about it seems like something I should like. I thought about picking up a different book but it just feels

I haven’t seen him in years. However I did once get to watch the police kick him a bunch of times due to his big mouth. I don’t approve of police beating people for saying dumb things but I have little doubt that at some point some one has beaten him up for a decent reason.

I am ashamed to say that I used to have a friend (approx 12 or so years ago). Who used to proudly wear a shirt that said “I raped your daughter”. He seemed to think it was funny. In fact it was his intention at the time to purchase an entire wardrobe full of them. Most of my friends (the male ones anyway) thought this

Me too!

I stopped here on my way from Ontario to Nova Scotia a few years ago because I saw a sign on the highway. It was so trippy I was convinced that the car was being pulled up the hill. I'm one of those nerdy types and it drove me nuts so finally I got out of the car and put a ball on the rode to confirm to myself it was

No.

I read this one when I was about 13 and I still think of it from time to time:

Its true...

Barenaked ladies fan?

I did not used to have this gene. But a few years ago I had a roommate who never bought toilet paper but seemed to go through as much tp as the rest of the house combined. As someone who was a student and on disability this stressed me out to no end. I eventually started waiting for really good sales and stocking up.

I just realized how brutal tomorrows choices are: Xena vs Firefly, B5vs Avatar/Korra , Battlestar vs Farscape. I thought todays choice of Person of Interest vs Orphan black was difficult. Some of my all time favourite shows are against each other. I mean obviously Xena wins (despite Hercules) because Firefly only had

I know. So hard to choose. They are my two favourite shows currently airing. In the end I had to go for Orphan Black, but only by a hair.

I second the never drink raw milk advice. When I was in kindergarten circa 1985 I went on a field trip to a dairy farm and my entire class got sick after drinking raw milk. Several of the kids almost died. Not worth the risk. Pasteurization is considered an important discovery for a reason.

I agree in theory but in practice you would need to be able to turn them off. Its not reasonable to have them running when the cop has to go to the bathroom, or even when they are on lunch (obviously if their break got interrupted the cameras should go right back on).

I once had a fairly minor surgery. When I woke up I was ragey. Super ragey and I couldn't stop it. For maybe 4 or 5 hours. I scared the nurses, I scared my parents. I scared some people at the mall (my parents stopped to pick up my prescription and I jumped out of the car). A few hours later (after a friend showed up

I had the same feeling. I know someone who travelled much of North America this way in the early 2000's and the stories he told me were fascinating. I was looking to see if he was in any of the pictures. He wasn't but pretty much everyone in the pictures was dressed exactly like he always was. He has aged out of train

So badass. She has been a hero of mine since I read a few of her books when I was a teenager. The first one I read was 'Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions' and I think helped change the way I think.

We had Giant Hogweek growing in some of the parks near where I live. One of the scary side effects is blindness:
