I noticed trek fans are either
1. Upset that they’re not hand fed familiarity and scream about it.
2. Upset that they ARE hand fed familiarity and scream about it.

i agree its an amazing idea, but lets not forgot about the golden star trek idea of Lower Decks, fuckin hilarious
I’ll call it Tales Of The Federation, where you would just do one-offs, right? So you could bring George Takei back for an hour, and do a show about Sulu as an older man, or find Jonathan Archer having now retired from his Enterprise and being on Earth, just do these certain really interesting ones.
I want the mass media to lionize him like we have. He represents too much good to fade away from the public eye post-mortem. It will be a profound loss when he’s gone, he’s like a family member after my having been a fan back to Dune and Lifeforce.
I watch all of these several times, because I’ve always watched all of Star Wars several times. In my opinion, it doesn’t necessarily get better HOWEVER, the episodes work a lot better when you watch them back to back. So I’d say wait two weeks then go back to it.
I feel like the Boba Fett character has two problems:
If the prequels taught us anything, it’s that Padme is a terrible judge of character.
I can barely justify the $150 the ‘standard’ LEGO AT-AT costs (and haven’t successfully yet) so I don’t foresee ever getting this gigantic $800 version.
This all the way, the marketing on this was way off the mark. It’s fine and even encouraged to bring obscure weirdo’s to the Universe, but give me a reason to care except for some middling SFX and dull monsters to fight.
That's basically my setup. 7.2. Atmos is overrated. I have the whole room acoustically treated, and that made it sound better than my best speakers...
I saw it in an IMAX theatre with an absurdly large screen, a sound system that nearly shattered my coccyx, and 45 minutes of previews and commercials.
I mean, $40 million is nothing to scoff at. That’s a good chunka change, especially in COVID times. But until cameras roll on part 2, I’m still skeptical. Part 1 cost, what, $165 million to make? Double it to take into account marketing costs. Factor in losses from pushing it from its original release date. Unless…
Missed opportunities is an understatement. I gave that damn show seven seasons of my life hoping it would “wow” me with some kind rewarding crossover or meaningful connection to the greater MCU - I got ONE great season centered around SHIELD’s collapse after Winter Soldier... and Sif. Sif!
They should try and bring him back along with Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Kingpin.
Time travel? Are we going back in time before the shark was jumped?
So many justified reasons for the hate:
Also out of Fandome, Pennyworth has been renewed for a third season, but will now air on HBO Max instead of EPIX.
I don’t know why anybody is surprised, since this movie is only about half the book and Chani doesn’t show up at all until halfway through the book. Except for some dream sequences.
As someone who has read the book a few times, I’m not surprised. Her character doesn’t really enter the story until 2/3 of the way through, so if they’ve broken the book into two movies it makes sense that she won’t appear until very late in the film. She’ll play a massive role in part 2 if it happens.
This was one of the first anime I watched so I feel like I need to buy this for the nostalgia factor alone. *pretends not to see the Robotech complete DVD collection on the shelf*
