The Roseanne video is why I support people who cut ties with their parents, because that’s exactly the type of vocalizations some kids wake up to at 3am, as an example.

“Is it wrong? Yes. Do most restaurants care? Not unless they’re a Mom n Pop type place, in which case it is extra wrong b/c they need those pennies to fight Big Corporate Franchise that moved in 3 doors down.”
“Soda water is essentially pop without the syrup.”
My restaurant gets very good reviews for the most part, but when there is something critical there is rarely any indication this was communicated to my staff. And, while I routinely comment on these reviews that the person can contact me — the owner — no one has ever taken me up on it.
Coke products cost us .13 a glass, and most of the time is in a restaurant glass as opposed to a take-out container, so, yeah.
On most machines, when you have fountain pop, the water needs to be carbonated, and so it’s a natural byproduct of the process ... there is a part that just does that ... carbonates water so that the pop is fizzy. The restaurant probably isn’t purchasing a special thing, or spending extra money on it. They can…
Yeah, I own a restaurant, and this would not bother me at all. I’m more irritated by people who want free lemon slices for their water.
“My daughter won’t talk to me.”
I can calling it voighting. Also lohaning.
Yeah, when my mom was dying, we started talking again. I loved her and missed her, and now that she is gone I still love and miss her, but it doesn’t mean our estrangement didn’t happen for good reasons. I fully expected I would get a call that she’d died, and that would be it, so that we did get to speak again was…
I don’t know the answer. My restaurant is so small that we know if someone left or not and if I don’t, I ask the server. :) Last week I did start clearing a table prematurely because our town had a jet flyover for the 4th, and a whole table ran out to watch it. So, yeah, it looked like they’d left.
I recently drank way too much and had to hold on to the throne. It happens.
Health issues? I used to read him religiously -- and knew you did based on PHG -- but just grew out of a steady diet of celeb gossip. I didn’t know he’d been ill.
Reading is how I decompress, so it’s just a reflection on how stressed out I am! :)
I’m 60/80 on my Goodreads annual goal. I’m reading The Immortalists, by Chloe Benjamin, and The Diviners, by Libba Bray. I have too many damned books I want to read.
Sounds like a good match!
It’s a fun game. I can play guilty AF like a rock star until they get burned so many times that they’re scared to call me out.

My husband is 13 years older, and I’m aware that I’ve made him more liberal and conscious of racism and sexism over time. I do think he secretly thinks some of my feminist rants are a little much. :)
But even at the beginning, he would not have pulled any of this David Cross crap.
I saw the picture, and was happy in that moment in assuming they’d broken up.
I’m the generation below her — I think I was 9 or 10 when Three’s Company premiered. We all have a choice on what we do with the past, you know? You can never examine the things you grew up with or enjoyed as a young adult, and lament that people now have a problem with them, or you can reassess and let some stuff go.
