I’m on your side in this one, bro. Particularly since Rubio is underlining how important Muslim Americans have been in the military - it’s a very clear, unmistakeable call for tolerance and appreciation of Muslims. This criticism is way overblown. Remember Rubio’s audience, for Chrissake you guys.

So picking five or so words out of a hundred that do acknowledge Muslims as contributing and worthy of praise as soldiers and humans and Americans is enough to be outraged about?

I don’t think what he says jives with the headline. I mean, the guy is a douche, and I dislike christian missionaries as much as the next liberal atheist, but I don’t read this as saying “muslims are great if they convert”. I do think too many conservatives need to hear things like this, though. They need their

No, that wasn’t the point he was trying to make. He was appealing to his base, and telling them about moderate Muslims. He used examples that would appeal to his base’s empathy, in order to elicit understanding, that all that hatred is both wrong and counterproductive to furthering America’s goals. This was a very

For fucks sake, as much of a scumbag he is, Marco Rubio has been the only person in this campaign who hasn’t likened Muslims to terrorists, killers of your children and rapists of your wives. Can we just fucking stop? He mentioned how much they contributed to our communal country. Christian, Muslim, whatever. Look, I

Forgive me but what did Rubio say that was so wrong? He didn’t say he wanted Muslims to convert, he stated that a Christian missionary couple who was in a Muslim country was met with kindness from Muslims. Am I missing something here?

I was watching and I'm also fairly sure he said something else about that missionary couple in Bangladesh and the nice Muslims they met who would not convert but who were good people. Maybe I'm wrong though, but yeah, this article was highly misleading and weird.

This (and sorry I can’t upvote you, because Firefox). The “Muslims converting to Christianity” was one stray sentence out of a much larger whole, and his point may sound basic as hell to us, but more Republicans need to be saying, and understanding, this very basic thing. And no, I’m not a Rubio supporter either.

Sorry, JE, but that last line could just as well apply to this story. Rubio did not say he’s okay with Muslims only if they convert to Christianity. And his point about not pissing off moderate Muslims as a strategy against the fight with radical jihadists has been echoed by Hillary Clinton and the rest of the

The victim here has chosen not to speak, which means she too wants the process to remain confidential. I understand questioning the confidentiality policy of a university when it seems to only be protecting a rapist, but here it also appears to be protecting the victim. If she doesn’t want her name or any of the

Ok, but how can I stay outraged in some way about this movie? This torch ain’t gonna light itself...

Oh come on, she’s nowhere near being a household name the way Melissa McCarthy became after Bridesmaids.

I think there’s a difference between “you’re naked, therefore you like sex and are a slut” and “there is no reason to show us your naked body under the flimsy pretext of not knowing what to wear as anyone who cares to see you naked has already done so”.

It always makes me feel sick to my stomach when fathers have this kind of possessive, lecherous view of their own daughters, and make a lot of allusions to their sexual purity and beauty. Just—your own parent seeing your primary worth as a person being your value as a compliant and fuckable little wife for someone is

I don’t understand what this has to do with Trump wanting to have sex with his daughter.

Is the teaming doing anything that drastically wrong here? They haven’t been told why their teammate has been kicked off the squad and they are supporting him. Really not sure what they are supposed to do.

The difference is that Berniebros aren’t asking a question to understand. They’re using it like a cudgel against Hilary supporters. They take a as given that Bernie’s stated policies would be better for black people (which is already assuming they know what’s best for black people) and then criticizing Hilary

If I just went by what I read on this site/the comments on this site, I’d think she was worse than all the Republican candidates combined. As much as I enjoy this site... I may have to peace out until what? June?

I might be a broken record here, but saying the 1994 crime bill (a bill written by Biden, voted for by Sanders, and supported by significant portions of the black community) lead to mass incarceration is just bullshit. it was a part of the problem, absolutely. but that bill was a federal crime bill. the vast majority
