I thought the Hunting Ground was sensationalistic and more intent on pushing an agenda than reporting facts. I felt that way before reading Yoffe’s article too.

I have nearly nothing constructive to add other than that was a great article and the kind of thoughtful eloquent writing that I wish happened here more often (unlike, say, a creepy post about a 16 year old boy).
Here’s my questions: What would an ideal system look like? While appreciating that we’ve been, and continue

He’s a man actually. I profoundly disagree with what he’s saying and it’s absolutely ridiculous that a man shouldn’t defend himself. No one on Jezebel would dare say the same thing to a woman, but he’s kinda right about one thing. If you’re a man and you defend yourself against a woman, you’re in many ways screwed,

Wow, this article looks like it was scientifically cooked up to drive a wedge right down the middle of Jezebel. It’s a domestic violence case with a white woman and black man, no conclusive evidence either way that proves anything, and mud-slinging accusations going back and forth. I’m putting my money on them both

Like, the universe could not have provided a more perfect situation..I’ve been waiting for something like this to occur ever since jezebel posted the story about how false rape and assault accusations by white women against black men is an American tradition. Personally as a black man who has encountered many a

black man accused of hurting white woman. immediate rush to judgment that black man is guilty. no trial necessary. if it walks like a duck...

Hey man, sucking off Drake in print repeatedly is the new investigative reporting.

She doesn’t need to ask anyone to “take her side,” as articles like this one fall over themselves to do it out of the gate (as do you).

Serious question- do White women believe that slapping/smacking a man doesn’t count?

yeah.... I don’t like either of these people...

I see one posted within the hour, and another criticizing tabloids for being tabloids.

I’m a white lady. I’ll just get that out of the way. I was getting some kind of weird vibes from her statement here. Like, I believe that he probably laid some hands on her, but some of the narrative reminds me of my sister and her ‘abusive’ ex. I hate to use those quotes, but she would brag about how he was abusive,

If you think someone can’t be racist because they’re dating someone of another race then you need to crawl back under the rock you came from.

They both sound like violent and verbally abusive shitheads.

Team No One. They both seem awful. Good thing they broke up. They brought out the worst in each other.

whatever you gotta tell yourself

True. Though, you have to laugh a bit at the idea of men (black or not) being “put off” at being fetishized. That is pretty much 100% what men do. Is this guy suddenly above such a thing? I doubt it.

So would you apply this advice to a women? Or just to dudes?

thank you, i was about to lose my mind.

Hey. Hey. How about Team No One for now?
