Yup, for me one of the best things about adventuring is the ridiculous places you find yourself sleeping. 3o min power nap 200 ft up a cliff. Sitting up against the bike on a random hiking trail in Canada. Those are always some of the best memories.

I interpreted that scene much differently. As I saw it, Grant let Buddy go then changed his mind and ultimately saw his decision as a weakness. So, he went back and shot him, i.e. the additional scene with the dog in crosshairs.

I think the writers had to be treading some water as couldn't go all out with stuff before "Winter Soldier" shook SHIELD up big-time.
