I think they were referring to the Ken Burns-style episode in season 3, “Pillows and Blankets.”

Goddammit I need to rewatch that movie IMMEDIATELY. Thank you for the correction!
1) Yeah, this one’s definitely on me—I’m very bad at estimating sizes on screen, so just assumed Jamie Foxx was, well, Little John-sized. That’s just silly casting.
Or just watch the 1939 Errol Flynn. It’s really fun! They just released it in a year that also saw Gone With The Wind, Destry Rides Again, The Wizard of Oz, and basically every other staple classic movie ever.

1) I don’t have any kind of a historical perspective on Robin Hood, but from what I remember “Little John” was a joke because the character’s always huge. Eugene Pallette played him in the ‘39 version and he was a sizable dude (not in the Jamie Foxx sense, but still).
I appreciate the explanation, and it definitely works! I had a weird hanger/hangar pun-related thing going in my head and it was getting very confusing very quickly.
Real dumb question, but could someone explain the headline here? It feels like really clever wordplay but I can’t quite parse it.
Mick is SO GREAT, and he clearly writes some bad-ass (tri-boobed) heroines.
It’s neat that they acknowledged it and would’ve been a bit odd if they hadn’t—I dimly remembered Ishiro Honda and Godzilla’s history being rooted in Hiroshima somehow, and it was. (I’m guessing you already knew that, I’m just always excited to share stuff like that.)
Agreed! I really liked that, and it made a lot of sense—it both allows her to consciously choose redemption instead of being coerced into it and confirms for Ray that he 100% made the right wrong choice when he let her go.
It was on point, seriously. Everyone rocked the vintage look, but Zari owned it.
I’m not alone in thinking Mick and Zari’s friendship is super endearing, right? And that they’re just generally the best? It’s kind of great as an example of platonic chemistry, imo. They both have that weird indirect bonding thing down, albeit in different ways.
If you’re just looking for the text, PraiseBeTheIUD kindly posted that here: https://jezebel.com/1830079508. (I’m sure the visuals are amazing too, but I always like to see the complete story somewhere)
Oh, nice—that’s an awesome pairing. I’ve listened to a few episodes and really liked them, so I’ll definitely queue that up! With any luck we’ll get more rejected food puns.
Yes! Megan Amram is the best. (I also loved her as Hipster Viv in P&R)
They’re both outstanding, so it’s really an open debate for me—I like the overall casting and plotline for season 1 a bit more, but season 2 took some interesting risks that largely paid off. Also, Ted Danson is just so gosh-darn charming.
FYI, at least a couple of those sites do let you opt out, and it seems to work. I’ve removed my info from Spokeo and PeopleFinder—Spokeo has an opt-out form that’s a bit tricky to find, and PF gives you the option on your “profile.”
Yessss! That’s exactly the one I was thinking of :)
I feel kind of bad about retracting this now! Message me if you’re looking for a new used bookstore in the Richmond/DMV area, I guess? I have absolutely no credentials, but I can tell you which of them aren’t owned by jerks.*
