“Hasbro, you bloodsucker. You’re gonna have to do your own dirty work now, do you hear me? You’ve managed to kill just about every other cinematic franchise, but like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target!”
I see where you’re coming from, I just don’t interpret what they’re saying like that.
in certain states. (COME on folks, if you’re eligible, schedule a shot now. It’s free and keeps you out of a hospital)
Even Enterprise, a show I like but recognize the problems of, knew better than to make Section 31 a big deal when they brought it back in - one of the main characters used to be a part of it but had moved on and reluctantly had to work with them again, just like with DS9 it served as an idea they could reject. Same…
Section 31 and the Mirror Universe are ideas that work best when in small doses - get too much of either of them and the one-dimensionality, negativity, and cynicism of it all gets too much for the backbone of Star Trek to handle. Putting them together in a single character (Mirror Georgiou) epitomizes all of this to…
Jesus, I wish they would let this plot tumor die. I say this as someone who counts DS9 as his favorite Trek show. I just don’t care about the adventures of “reformed” Space Hitler and her new black shirt friends.
Nobody really knows who owns the rights. I think Nightdive and GOG tried to sort it out with Monolith, WB and Fox but couldn’t get any straight answers. They did, however, get a warning that they would be sued if they tried to do anything with the IP. So yeah, it’s a big copyright clusterfuck. The companies…
The NOLF games were amazing but they didn’t really revolve around any unique gameplay mechanics.
Just give me Stratos. That’s all I ask.

Agreed - the Lynch film is a very faithful translation of the book in most ways. The biggest changes are that the middle act (Paul training the Fremen) is massively truncated, although since that was all filmed, it is the fault of the studio’s time constraints; and the visualization of the Fremen’s fighting style,…
That’s how I felt too - the movie captures the essence (“spice”) of the novel, it just has some Lynch-weirdness in it that people wanting 1:1-translations/the next Star Wars probably hated... but that weirdness actually makes it more futuristic, they should have gone all-in on that vision.
I’d always heard how bad this movie was, but when I finally got around to watching it, I kinda liked it! It probably helped that I’ve never read the books, though
No shit, Mick Jagger was slated to play Feyd in Jarodowski’s film which is what I was talking about, long before Sting was excellently cast for Lynch’s version.
A lot of people give that line shit but it really does carry a lot of weight.
heh I still get a kick out of how the biggest proponent of that theory is a fictional character who is also basically a sociopath. Like, you have to ignore literally EVERYTHING about Johnny to think he’s the victim.
Is that from the same people who believe Daniel Larusso was they real villain of The Karate Kid films?
Even if it happened completely without any collateral damage somehow, it’s still a dumb plan. Earth’s human population went from 2.5 billion to 7 billion in the last 50-60 years. Cutting that in half only postpones things for, what, 40 years?
Oh, man. I can’t imagine how many planes crashed (killing all on board), how many patients died on the operating table, or how many nuclear power plants were suddenly left unmanned from the snap.
