Ready Player One is a very bad book and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One is an even worse movie.

(Sidenote, while we’re being earnest: I’m sorry, but Nickelback’s “Hero” is good, actually.)

Lol @ 100+ dollar tickets and not including a disposable mask. That says A LOT about their priorities.

I get that, and don’t think any of this newer generation **THINKS** they are bad story tellers, it’s just that, as you said, they come up with a series moments / scenes they think would be visually impressive and get so locked into them they don’t see that they don’t always fit together to form a coherent story.

It’s pretty simple to understand once you realize that you can never reliably shuffle characters around, and that it’s best (and eventually, entirely necessary) to arrange them in an unbroken line. Since each Doctor requires two of the previous one, the amount of planning (and eventually, luck) it takes to do that

“I’m Jewish and my ancestors were also slaves”

This is a time vampire.

I always look at this way: The New Hollywood movement very much felt like it was a group of people who loved film, and were all, in a sense, making pastiches of earlier work.

This is something that even the sequels get right — in their first appearance, the First Order murders a village of innocent bystanders, and in the course of the ST we learn that they enslave children for their slave armies, bomb civilian populations, and put down any uprising without mercy. They also act a lot more

Absolutely, I wasn’t implying Apple was making a pro-consumer choice (as if...), I was merely trying to give some background info to people who might have been out of the CPU market for the past 3 years or so.

I’m not sure what this article was other than to push the schizophrenic world that is known as Google/Android and all if it’s holes and “oh great feature - but that won’t work on phones that are older than 1 year”

welp....thats a sweet gesture

Here’s the thing: orcs were called out as unflattering racist caricatures back in the ‘60s with Lord of the Rings, a decade before D&D. Orcs and the like as dumb, angry monsters has always been a problem. Ditto goblins, drow, kobolds, duergar, and the like.

I really do hope Hollywood stands behind Jon, and he continues to get work. But Attack the Block was a fine low-budget sci-fi flick that doesn’t need a sequel. I don’t know about you, but I’ve reached my, “Blood Fam” quota for my lifetime.

It will be worse for the rescuers who will be stepping on those pieces to pull your mangled body from the wreckage.

James is wrong. Thank you for coming to my TEA-Talk.

You’d hope, but you never know. I’ve seen that idea expressed unironically more than once.

Can’t wait for DLC 3: “Another Death Star But This Time You Fly Inside It”, maybe we’ll also get DLC 4: “Death Star Planet 30 Years Later”

Or even better, find someone to expand on this concept and make a big budget sequel.

This is 100% a game that needs to be remastered. I would buy it day 1 on PS4.
