This engine was way too powerfull even for the Viper, so lets put it into something not even bespoke...? Sounds like an extremely quick way to die a fiery death up on a tree.

Cibié!

@wkiernan: Hah. Seconded. No time for tv with my life spent on the internetz.

@lurch70: Yeah, but contrary to the 500, the Countryman in shite.

@Heel-Toe: 'Avant' started out as a wagon-cum-hatchback: huge load area accessible via a back door featuring a heavily raked glass. That changed with the C4 100, where it turned into a wagon, fullstop. It stayed so ever since, check out the current A4 and A6 Avants - both are wagons, no question.

@duurtlang: I don't need to introduce you to ford's '70s "omega": the Granada. As far as i can tell, the prices of those started to go up in Germany, and i recon the Omega will hit the same fate - in 10-15 years time. When that happens, the extra MV6 engines and transmissions that gone over-pond could start filtering

Well... the Catera was based on the last-gen Opel Omega, which is also the last RWD large Opel. I would say, the Omega could clintch some kind of b-league lustworthyness, around the time it starts to turn 25-30. So if you keep hold of a Catera, you could sell it to a future Omega-fanatic. Just sayin'.

I like C4s. Dunno why, but I do.

I'm sorry guys, i know you would like to see as many wagons around, as possible, what's more, I myself consider the wagon the best possible car body. But the A3 / S3 / RS3 Sportback is still only a 5dr hatchback. Note the absence of "Avant" moniker.

@vc-10: I understand that - just seeing people commenting about buying one for the family, i thought i share my view, that there are better cars for that purpose, even within its own class. You know, the strongest area of the european car market is the small-medium family car - be it hatchback, wagon, MPV or a

Used a tdci 5spd to ferry the family to my brothers wedding. This was in yurp. Was prety noisy and uncivil on the highway, which is of course understandable form a utility vehicle point of view, but make it sadly inferior to a proper small minivan, say, Mazda 5, or even Ford's own C-Max (i know you guys don't get

The last family Renault turning into a classic was the 16. This won't stem the tide either, even though it was a looker (in class) when new.

@Buckus: Disagree. They'll seem to want to compete with porsche. That's a battle, that isn't lost right from the start - but uphill non the less.

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: I'm with you. Furthermore, there are other sports car brands out there, who didn't lose and ounce of handling just because they inevitably got heavier during the decades. Weight in itself is only one variable in the equation.

For how much???? Nononononono, no effing way. I don't even want to know what he's smoking, this is wrong on every conciveable level. And expensive to boot.

@Bryce: Now that would have been a grand week, if you catch my drift.

@Dab O' Swine: Not being american, i had to look that up in the UD. Cheers for widening my horizon, while brightening my day.
