@maximum_sarge: Except that its FWD, which would have to be an advantage on loose ground - if only Richard didn't cock it up.

@pauljones: Thing is the transit has been rwd only up untill this generation bowed in, when the press-launch featured workers swapping the powertrain between fwd and rwd in the space of 15minutes or so. The architecture can accomodate both layouts, though the engines are not the same (2.2 for the FWD, 2.4 or the…
Hm. So you guys still use gas/auto transporters..? It is these striking differences that makes the seemingly closely related US of A and Europe so different. You would be VERY hard pressed to find a single van around here, that isn't turbodiesel with a manual. Anything else increases consumption and thus running costs…
Well.... no. Finding an old japanese with dead engine and intact body is no easy feat, so kudos for that, but otherwise - there is just too much room for my imagination here, and i would much rather imagine something completely different, even for this kind of money. CP
I voted CP, but only because this is sure to come with that vallet-vacuum you mention. Otherwise, if i'd also have the rest of the 40k needed for a clean one, hells-yeah!
@Alfisted: I'm not a porsche owner - but this was exactly my first thought. Nick in there seems a right ole tough guy!
@crazycarlarry: Lovely being completely out of context there.
I WANT that steering wheel right now.
You mean a 288?
@They call me MISTER Scroggs!: HC! oooooohhhhh i love that flick so much
I know you guys know little about europe-only cars, so here's a story you might not be familiar with: i think the the car loving public was at best underwhelmed by the Citroen DS3 - up untill its launch, when it turned out to be a fabulous car. This is so commonplace, it hurts to type, but we should give even Toyota…
If i had that many greenies, i'd buy something else, but that does not mean this isn't nice the way it is. NP!
On the European front: the Renault Avantime and the Smart ForFour both went out after a short while, both have quirky, but working design, and both still look good after ten years or so. I would love to have either or both right now, and keep them running for my kids.
This is so insane, it can be nothing else but NP. Lovely!
Thing is, that the way Lotus has chosen happens to be the so-called modern way. When lotus was great, i would imagine they were a company not unlike Ariel, or Caterham for that matter are today - very small, selling just enough cars to float.
@ShantJ: Would be sacrilege, as that's a golf-based car, hence no longitudinal engine. Also, no torsen diff. No, the TT-RS is still just a pretty golf, even though its a damn good car.
