I’ve seen worse. Honestly, it’s not too bad, but I’ve also seen far better. Definitely not highschooler stuff, it looks more like an assignment-type homework thing at an animation school or something like that.
Did you know though that the same animation principles apply for both 2D and 3D animation?
I think this stylized art style really works. This wouldn’t look nearly as good if it looked like Red Faction.
“bunch of shapes growing larger to simulate sense of speed and depth” is actually what 3d graphics is all about.
Mario is faster than Sonic actually:
I liked Xillia 2...
Touché. I know that, I am a game developer who has had experience with some pretty meddling publishers already (cough-Act-cough-sion).
I guess you’re right!
Tales of Zestiria?
AFAIK there never was a Star Ocean game for the Gamecube.
Why? It could be, but the info provided doesn’t necessarily imply that. It’s realtime action-based, I don’t know about button mashing.
Square didn’t make any of this, they’re the publisher. This is a Tri-Ace Production, like all previous Star Oceans.
Tales and Star Ocean are closely related. The guys who created the first Tales game left Namco/Wolfteam to form tri-Ace. Star Ocean 1 on Super Famicom was tri-Ace’s attempt to create an IP that could be their version of “Tales”.
Tales of the Tempest. At least when the main char turns into a beastman...
Both can still be used. I actually used the Rock Band 3 keyboard as a Keytar at a gig once (since I didn’t want to buy an actual Keytar). Sounds coming from my regular keyboard, Rock Band keyboard connected to it via MIDI.
Are you a licensed developer with several shipped titles on all major platforms? Do you even know the submission guidelines?
Artistic decisions, maybe.
Could actualy be artistic decisions. Glow and flares are so yesteryear...
You know, one of the most infuriating things about FF XIII for me was despite the fact that you could essentially auto-battle, I still died a lot, and for me some battles were extremely hard. Especially if you didn’t have the right paradigm set-up...
