@Celery: Oh, please don't use fluid. Get a chimney starter. About $20. Sweet. And never worry about petro-flavor food.

@pinecone99: There are simple accessories that use weight to show how much is in the gas tank. Some grills have that built in. If you have two tanks (which are inexpensive), then this is no issue.
@Kotakufan777: Relying on the fuse is a bad idea. It's the last resort. A resistive short could cause burning without tripping a fuse/breaker. Not likely, but possible.
@rawocd: That part is no concern. An outlet can serve 15 amps (1800 watts) easily and battery chargers like this are under an amp each.
It's not as hazardous as the comments suggest and most of the reasons are wrong.
@MeOhMy: Not a problem for a thin film. Mineral oil would be better but few people have it handy.
@ak294: Depends on the signal being carried, but for the most part, twisting the conductors won't have much effect on the signal. For longer runs, higher frequencies, or low-voltage signals, stick with the standards.
There are also furniture stains available in felt-tipped "pen" form. The key advantage over coffee grounds is that they provide a more accurate color match. The pens are available at hardware and lumber stores.
Make your own chocolate syrup! Way, way better than anything you can buy, and easy to do. See my blog posting on that:
@ian.nai: LOL. This has worked for me!
I have cut back on laundry detergent by 1/2 since LH posted that article and see no difference in my clothes.
Cool. Let's have a Hive Mind attack on best such tools for Macs.
If you ever take anything apart to repair it, have the camera on hand and snap shots as you go. Sometimes, I take no notes but along the way, realize I need parts. In the day or three it takes to get parts, I forget whether the bodingus goes over or under the frammistat and which places get the slightly longer screws.
Anyone know of an extension for Chrome that does what Tree Style Tabs does for Firefox — put tabs on the left and nests them?
Several people mentioned locking the door between the house and the garage. Good advice but not a very solid bit of security because once inside the garage, thieves are out of sight and can break in quite easily. The garage is the preferred entry point.
@GlennA: You're referring to high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), not corn syrup. Those are different things.
@detection: When using a door as a work surface, most people get doors that are 30" wide, which also happens to be pretty standard for desk depth. You can get various lengths but commonly, they're 7 feet tall, meaning the two desks are 14 feet together.
Typo: "While $750 might now fall into the "inexpensive" category for everyone..."
@Lyrandian: Good points. One last comment:
@skadoosh: Pretty sure. H2S dissolves in water and forms H2SO4. Search for "hydrogen sulfide sulfuric acid water."
