@jbarr: Welllllll, I think it might. Not goingto be the guinea pig, though.

@TheEpicChicken: Definitely no problem. Glass is much better than whiteboards. I never had a problem when I used to use an office window this way.

I used to keep one in the car for the sudden urge to note while driving. In addition to being handy, you could write large, much easier to do while driving.

@rkinne01: I just recently read that using test kernels to detect that the oil is hot reduces "old maids" (unpopped kernels), because if you dump it all in at once, the kernels can lose internal moisture as they heat slowly, reducing the -bam- power.

If you make microwave popcorn, open a pouch onetime. See what looks like chunks of orange crayons? You're eating that. The least-heart-healthy fat you can choose.

@Yarok: Yes. The best cover letters show that you read and understand the position, and demonstrate one or two ways you're a good candidate. Remember that the goal of the cover letter is to get them to read the resume; the goal of the resume is to get an interview.

@Dacker: I'd agree. Not much reason not to include one, unless one is worried that their English is not good.

@jwalker: Or your Peet's Coffee mug?

@Dacker: I agree. You could use a URL for each resume.

As a hiring manager, I find the idea of sending a URL rather than a resume interesting. Advantage: New practice so you might be seen as innovative. But that's me, and I am in web marketing. For other hiring managers, I would fear the disadvantages.

@rdy4trvll: You're probably right. Looks like a good book for knife fans but if you want a simpler intro to good knives for the kitchen, I have an article that suggests what knives you really need, some shopping pointers. You don't really need a whole block full of high-cla$$ knives.

"What about Macs," I wondered. Surprising to find no easy or free solution but did find Size Up, which provides keyboard shortcuts for many window resizing functions.

@moe52: OK, I had to finish the write up on the Ove'Glove, for those of you who want — well, more than a stick.

@holyspidoo: That's true — for the moment. In fact, it's worse than you describe since most investments lost money for the last few years. But you can't look at the recent past, you have to take a long view. Diversified investments with consistent deposits over decades invariably grow well. That's almost certain,

@Bane_Majik: And speaking of oven mitts, check out Ove'Glove. It is as ugly as its name but works wonderfully. I'll be posting a description on [feedme.typepad.com] later this week. If you just can't wait, feed "ove glove" to your favorite search engine.

@Stephen.Lecheler: Wow. Anyone notice that the chair looks like a cartoon version of the Rolling Stones logo?
