Even leaving out the fact that people bought a car with good intentions about being a clean diesel, they bought a product. The company who made that product lied about the product. I didn’t go around leaving notes on peoples iPhones when their antennas didnt work saying “Shoulda bought an android!”

That, and people act like all the VW drivers were in on the lie and we all now just got caught. I picked a car, the company lied about something. I don’t leave notes on your car because the airbag might explode, or you shove too many mats on the floor causing your pedals to get jammed.

I totally agree that making it into a marketing buzzword thing was dumb. BUT, I think the bow tie border looks so much better than the giant gaudy gold bow tie. They could use this style on every car and it would look so much better than the giant plastic gold emblem.

I saw a 550 Maranello at Kings Hawaiian the other day. Not a supercar by todays standards, but it was my childhood dream car, so it was awesome to see it there.

As someone who is new to SoCal, I love the trophy truck look. It’s something I haven’t seen in NY or MI, so its something new that keeps me entertained.

Agreed. It’s funny how people forget that cars like the Taurus or Passat existed. Plus I honestly like how clean they looked without a grille. They definitely made the design work without a grille, not making it look faceless, or like a giant slab of empty plastic.

Nice! I’ve got a wagon, so no GTI emblem for me lol. It is a 1.8t, and I was running GTI wheels for a few seasons though.

I never thought about painting the grille black to be more traditional. I think I might do that now. I was thinking not since I have a green car, but I like your idea about keeping it traditional. I have blacked out headlights, so it would match that as well.

Yea exactly. I feel like if they had wanted to they could have incorporated it on the mk3 and mk4s. Its a fairly simple front end, and could have been worked out. Oh well though!

It bums me out that they didnt do this for every generation. It’s a cool subtle detail and I feel like the fact it wasn’t incorporated on some models of GTI is just plain laziness.

As someone that recently moved to California... my god. I got stuck behind a guy going 40 and brake checking me last night. And thats just one of many stories. I think education would definitely help alleviate terrible drivers.

You’re just passing the blame up stream. Sure your car isnt polluting, but the coal plant making the electricity is. People get mad when I say this, but unless the car is produced sustainably, and the electricity is produced by water or solar, there is still pollution being created.
